Commands, Requests And Advice In Reported Speech — Tiếng Anh Lớp 8 / 2023

(CÂU MỆNH LỆNH, YÊU CẦU VÀ LỜI KHUYÊN TRONG LỜI NÓI GIÁN TIẾP)

Commands, requests in reported speech (Câu mệnh lệnh, yêu cầu trong lời nói gián tiếp)

[Subject + asked/ told + object + (not) + to—infinitive]

Ex:

“Don’t leave your room, Tom” she said.

→ She told Tom not to leave his room.

He said. “Can you meet me after class?”

→ He asked me to meet him after class. (Anh ấy yêu cầu tôi gặp anh ấy sau giờ học.)

The policeman said, “Please show me your driving license.”

→ The policeman ordered me to show him my driving license.

Advice in reported speech (Lời khuyên trong lời nói gián tiếp)

    [Subject + said/ told (+ that) + subject + should + bare—infinitive]

    ex:

“You should stop smoking” he said.

→ He said/ told (that) I should stop smoking. (Anh ta bảo tôi nên bỏ thuốc lá).

“You shouldn’t drive so tst, John “he said.

→ He said! told (that) John shouldn’t drive so fast.

    Ex:

Sonia told me that you were ill.

    [NOT ‘Sonia said me’]

What did you tell the police? (Bạn đã nói gì với cảnh sát?)

    [NOT ‘say the police’]

+ Những trường hợp khác dùng say.

    Ex:

Sonia said that you were ill. (Sonia đã nói là anh bị bệnh.)

    [NOT ‘Sonia told me’]

What did you say?

    ex:

Ann said good bye to me and left. (Ann đã chào tạm biết với tôi và ra đi.)

(NOT ‘Ann said me good bye’)

What did you say to the police? (Bạn đã nói gì với cảnh sát?)
